UGC NET Exam 2014 Application Form Date Result 2014-2015

CSIR- Council of Scientific & Industrial Research declares bulletin for UGC NET Entrance Exam 2013 for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Lectureships. University Grants Commission National Entrance Test (UGC NET) provides test to get admission in Ph.D research & services in university.

It usually occurs two times in a yr during June & Dec. It offers JRF- Junior Research Fellowships & lectureship in the colleges & universities of the country.

Essential Criteria: Candidates having 55% marks in PG degree will be considered OR candidates having similar exam from institutes / universities reputed by UGC in Humanities (including lang.) & Social Sc., Comp. Science & Applications, Electronic Sc. & many others can appear in this exam. SC /ST / PWD candidates having 50% marks in PG degree or similar exam can appear in this test.
             
Age Limitation: For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) candidates should be less than 28 yrs on 01 June, 2013. SC/ST/ PWD/OBC candidates will get 5 yrs relaxation in age. For Lectureship no age bar is fixed.

Pattern of UGC NET Exam 

Since June, 2012, the criteria of the exam have been changed. Now the paper is of objective type. There are 3 Test papers which are divided into parte.
Paper 1 & 2 have 50 ques. each & timing is 75 min each. While in Paper 3 candidates have to attempt 75 ques.
Paper 1is of General questions. Questions are from comprehension, divergent thinking, reasoning ability & general knowledge. Out of 60 questions candidates have to attempt 50 questions.
Paper 2is from the particular subject attempted by the candidate. It is mandatory to attempt all the 50 ques.
Paper 3is of 75 objective type ques. from the subject chosen by the candidate. Every ques. carries 2 marks.

Fee Structure: Gen. Candidates, have to pay Rs.450/- as an exam fee while OBC have to pay Rs.225/- only & SC/ST/PWD candidates will pay Rs.110/-.

Application Process: Candidates have to apply online for NET. After applying a ‘Bank Challan’ is generated. This Challan is to be deposited via cash at any branch of SBI with bank charges of Rs.20/- on the following day. After 2 days candidates can inquire their position at www.ugcnetonline.in.
UGC copy of the Challan is to be deposited with the Online Application Form printout at the Registrar or Principal of UGC-NET concerning University/College selected by the student

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is organized at the national level in the country for PG candidates who are willing to join Ph.D research or teaching services at university level in the country. For the art & humanities stream it is organized by the University Grants Commission- UGC NET whereas for the Engg. & Science stream it is organized by University Grants Commission ("CSIR-UGC" NET) & Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).
