Joint Entrance Examination-JEE is an all India basis common entrance exam which is offered to join many Engg programs i.e. B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch & B.Planning in the control of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).It is divided into 2 exams JEE Main & JEE-Advanced. JEE-Advanced is for those candidates who are seeking to join IIT BHU-Banaras Hindu University, ISM-Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad & IITs-Indian Institutes of Technology. After passing JEE Main, candidates can attempt JEE-Advanced. Only those candidates will be preferable for JEE-Advanced Exam who achieve well in the JEE-Main Exam.

Essential Criteria: Candidates should have cleared JEE Main & must be among 1.5 lacs rank holders. Gen. & OBC Candidates must be 12th passed with 60% marks while SC/ST candidates must have 55% marks in 12th standard.

Distribution of percentage of selected candidates:

Gen. candidates carry 50.5%

SC candidates carry 15%

ST candidates carry 7.5%

OBC candidates carry 27%

Criteria of Exam: The question paper exam of JEE Advanced is in both the languages English & Hindi. There are 2 papers of three hrs each. Ques. are based on Physics, Chemistry, & Maths.

Objective type questions are asked with the negative marking provisions.

Note:Candidates can attempt only twice in consequent years. Those who have joined either ISM Dhanbad or IITs can not attempt JEE Advanced again.

   

 Fee Structure: Gen. & NCL-OBC candidates have to pay Rs.1800/- as an application fee for JEE Advanced whereas SC/ST/PWD candidates have to pay Rs.900/-. The fee is to be deposited through challan at any branch of State Bank of India.

Application Process: Willing candidates have to fill the application forms via online at the http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in/. Candidates can receive the Prospectus through online from any of the IITs website.
