The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. It currently has approximately 55,000 personnel on active duty, including 5,000 members of the naval aviation branch and 2,000 marine commandos, making it the world’s fifth largest navy.The Indian Navy currently operates more than 155 vessels, including the aircraft carrier INS Viraat, along with operational jet fighters. Though the primary objective of the navy is to secure national maritime borders, India also uses its navy to enhance its international relations.

Unmarried Citizens of India are invited for Short Service Commission (SSC) as Pilot/Observer in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for Course starting Dec 2013 at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala

Educational Qualifications : (a)The General Candidates must having graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 70% marks with Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 level. (b)The CPL Holders must be a  graduate in any discipline with minimum 60% marks with Mathematics and Physics in 10+2 level and holding valid and current CPL issued by DGCA (India).

 Important Note : Candidates who have not completed their Degrees are not eligible.

Age limit : (a) General Candidates. 19 to 24 years, born between 02 Jan 1990 and 01 Jan 1995; both dates inclusive. (b) CPL Holders. 19 to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1989 and 01 Jan 1995; both dates inclusive.

Salary : Rs.15600-39100/- per month.

Physical Standards :  (a) Height and Weight. Minimum height for men should be 162.5 cms and for women should be 152 cms with correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length. (b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6.The candidate should not be colour or night blind.

Selection Procedure : Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in educational qualification. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. (b) SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from Jul to Nov 2013 at Bangalore.

HOW TO APPLY
Application will be sent On Line. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidates will result in cancellation of his/her candidature. The candidates applying e-application  can do so from 03 April 2013. The online application registration will close on 17 Apr 2013.
