Visva-Bharati University is a public central university located at Santiniketan, West Bengal. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore who called it Visva Bharati, which means the communion of the world with India. In its initial years Tagore expressed his dissatisfaction with the word 'university', since university translates to Vishva-Vidyalaya, which is smaller in scope than Visva Bharati. Until independence it was a college. Soon after independence, in 1951, the institution was given the status of a university and was renamed Visva Bharati University

Applications are invited for  the post of Project Fellow for one year of UGC funded Major Research Project .

Title of the Project : ‘NREGA and Conditions of Rural Labourers – A Comparative Study in Two Districts in West Bengal.

Name of the Post : Project Fellow

Educational Qualification : The candidates having  master degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH) in Rural Development or Economics.

Maximum Age : 40 yrs at the time of appointment

Consolidated salary : Rs. 14,000/-p.m. + other allowances as per rules.
