Realizing  the importance of Island agriculture and to meet the requirements of local population and tourists, Indian Council of Agricultural research (ICAR) established Central Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair on June 23rd, 1978 by merging different regional research stations of ICAR institutes located in Islands.The mission of CARI is to develop the island agricultural production technologies which utilizes the available resources and convert the constraints into opportunities, without causing any ill effect to the fragile ecosystem of the island

Central Agricultural Research Institute is inviting the eligible candidates for walk- in interview for the post of JRF.

Project Title : Marker assisted introgression of bacterial blight resistance in popular rice cutivars of Andaman and Nicobar Islands-DBT funded

Eligibility : The candidates should be M.Sc Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding/ Life Science. 

Desirable : Hands on working experience of application of molecular markers in crop improvement.

Pay Scale : Rs.16000/-p.m+20%HRA for 1^st and 2^ndyrs.
                   and Rs.18000/-p.m+20%HRA for 3^rd and 4^th yrs.

Age Limit : For men (35 Years), For women (40years)

Duration of Project : Till March 2017 or termination of the project.
