The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) was set up by Govt. of Odisha as a statutory body in 1994 for carrying out direct recruitment against Group-C posts in the State cadre (as against District cadre) as may be scheduled in the OSSC Rules, 1993.

Odisha Information Service (Jr.Branch)	The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from the recognized Institution with Degree/Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from a recognized University, and must be able to speak ,read and write Odia,he must pass HSC or equivalent examination with Odia as medium of examination in non language subjects, or pass in Odia as language subject in the final examination of Class-VII or above, or pass a test in odia of Class-VII standard conducted by Board of Secondary Education , Odisha.	16

Age Limit  :21-32 yrs as on 01/01/2013.

Pay Scale : Rs 9,300-Rs 34,800 /- per month.

Application Fee: SEBC candidates , other than those who belong to PWD category, have to pay application fee of Rs.100 only through treasury challan under the head of account "0051-PSC-104-UPSC/SSC-examination fees 0047-fees collected for conducting examination-02041-examination fees.

Selection Process :  Written Examination /Viva Test.
