Gauhati University invites application for the recruitment of the various posts. Eligible and qualified candidates may apply through prescribed application format latest by 30.03.2013.

For Post no. 1,2 & 3

Educational Qualification & Experience : 

1.      Post Graduate degree with atleast 55% marks,

2.      Atleast 15 years experience as Assistant Professor or Lecturer with 8 years as Associate Professor / Reader;

  OR Comparable experience in a research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education ; 

  OR 15 years of administrative experience of which 5 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent grade.

Desirable :  Ph.D. degree .  For the post of Controller of Examinations adequate experience in conducting University level examinations is essential.

Scale of Pay : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/- with other allowances and benefits.

Age : Age should be above 45 years as on 01.03.2013.

For Post no. 4 

Educational Qualification & Experience : As per UGC norms as required for the post of Assistant Professor.

Desirable: (i) MA in any North-East language or cultural studies with M.Phil or Ph.D. and/or
(ii) Knowledge of Hindi and Tribal language with translation skill and/or
(iii) Working experience in the North-East related Studies.

Remuneration : Consolidated pay of Rs. 15,000/- per month.

Age limit : Preferably below 38 years on 01.03.2013

Candidates for the post No. 1, 2 & 3 will have to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- (in case of
SC/ST Rs. 500/-) and for post No. 4 Rs. 500/- (in case of SC/ST Rs. 250/-) by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, Gauhati University” payable at SBI, G.U. Branch.
